Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day has long been a favorite holiday of mine, even before I began dating. It's not so much the red and pink hearts that make me happy but celebrating the joys of friendships.
This year, I had a wonderful time with my own Valentine. Craig sweetly brought me really delicious chocolates and roses (a beautiful mixture of colors which my camera could not capture, but I tried!), dressed up in his nicest suit, drove to Greenville from Clemson, and took me to dinner at Stax's Peppermill. He planned the details so well! It really was a special night! At the end of it, I think the best part was just being with him. Isn't it sweet to have someone that you just enjoy BEING with?
"Friends are not primarily absorbed in each other. It is when we are doing things together that friendship springs up--painting, sailing ships, praying, philosophizing, fighting shoulder to shoulder. Friends look in the same direction ... Friendship must be about something ... those who have nothing can share nothing; those who are going nowhere can have no fellow-travelers."
