Not really original
I am not original. (Who knew, right?) I'm really not. If I was original, then I wouldn't have to have a blog to write down my thoughts. I'd be able to write a book or a song or choreograph some sort of dance to share what I'm thinking. But I'm not original, so what I have is a blog. Lots of people have blogs. Lots of my friends have had blogs and have quit posting on them already. That's how far behind the trend I am.
I got the idea to start this blog from Carolyn Mahaney and her daughters. Who? Carolyn Mahaney. She's original ... she wrote a book. She wrote a book on Biblical womanhood, and she and her daughters have a blog on the subject. I like reading their blog. I've been encouraged and challenged by it. My blog surely won't be nearly as creative as their's because, like I said, I'm not original.
Neither is the title of my blog, "Now and Then." It comes from a Sandra McCracken song. (She's very creative.) The song's actually called Now and Then. (Is that stealing?) One line in particular desribes who I am and where I am. "The fears of a girl and the heart of a woman and everything in between." I'm caught somewhere in the sticky web of having the fears of a girl yet the heart and desires a woman. A woman, who I hope, is learning to love and trust her God.
So, here it is. I'm not sure how many people will read it (if anyone at all) or how long it will last. But it's here for right now, so I hope you enjoy it! :)

Ashley! Well i have read it...and i think it's a wonderful desire to encourage and use it the way you are wanting to. i tend to use mine for little ditty's about myself lol(this is rachel babb btw). i look forward to reading it! I think the Lord put a little creativity in everyone. i guess i can't see how He couldn't...it's such a part of life...even if it's the most minor creative thing in the world...i'm sure you have some in you. I'll talk to you later...tomorow maybe. ~Rae

Hello Ashley! You're definitely being original with your blog, I mean you're not writing on Xanga. You get a Blogger instead! That's breaking away from the norm. I don't think that writing on a blog is all that unoriginal. I think it has to with what you make it. But I'm glad that you got a blog! Now I can read your thoughts and I can get to know you, instead if you just knowing about me.
